Current plans (October) – comics, books and games
Well hello, I thought I would just ping out a quick update as to my work plans for the next couple of months.
- POWERLESS comic – I have finished the inking for this now and I have started doing the ‘flats’ (mid-tone flat colours you use to fill in the empty space to use as a base for light and shade and help you work out a nice palette). I’m on schedule, which currently takes me to just inside the new year to finish it. One thing I do need to do is rewrite the script. The first draft allowed me to plan the layouts. Now I need to go back over the script to tie it to the images more, since the art itself has given me a better idea of what I need to write to complement it.
- Third POWERLESS book – I had an outline of this done early this year. I then went over it and tried to trim it down (it was sitting at 84 chapters) and came up with something I was more or less happy with. But since then I’ve realised it needs more work, not just to trim it down further, but to make the story feel more cohesive and not just three separate strands that suddenly collide at the end. I will be working on this in the background as I reach the end of the comic and will be my next book.
- Untitled PC game project – I have been wanting to make a game for years, but lack of skill in programming and art have put me off. But now that I have both editor and coding experience with Unity I am taking my first tentative steps towards making a literary adventure style game. This one is going to be grumbling along on the back burner for a couple of years I reckon, but I want to get the design and story laid down as early as possible so I can begin to make estimates for art, animation, audio etc.
Tony.
