The Powerless Bible

Now that I’ve finished the first draft of Killing Gods I’ve decided to create a ‘Bible’ for the Powerless universe.

I have a terrible memory at the best of times, yet for some reason I can hold a whole world of events, emotions and possibilities in my head when I’m writing. Where it falls down is on the specifics: names of people and organisations, what injuries person X sustained in book one (so which body part do they have bandages/support on in this book), when did person Y leave The Pulse (so if i’m referring back to a time period I don’t talk about someone who wouldn’t have been there), etc. etc.

As I was writing Powerless I had a few moments like this. While writing Killing Gods I had many moments like this. So I figured it was about time I created a big document, or collection of documents, that gather together all this information in one handy place. Especially handy since I am going to be spending some time in this world.

So I’ve created another project in Scrivener and I’m going to be compiling this over the next couple of weeks. Once that is done, I can safely attack the first revision of Killing Gods with the knowledge I’m not going to contradict or confuse myself on only my second book.
