Killing Gods: Ian, Jenny and Lewis
This is the second in a series of character and group profiles for my new book Killing Gods (the sequel to Powerless) which is out on the 22nd July. Please note some minor SPOILERS may apply for those who haven’t yet read the first book, so that’s your own fault.
Ian, Jenny and Lewis
In the late 80s and early 90s Ian Randall was ‘The Savage’, a mountainous mass of muscle and rage from the team The Red Strike who Martin fought against as a member of The Pulse. He has a Physically Manifested Ability, meaning his powers have mutated his body, in his case into a seven foot tall beast with claws of hardened skin. After years of prison and drug rehabilitation he is back out in society, trying to lead a normal life including starting a family with Jenny.
Jenny Crossdale is an ordinary girl, non-powered, who met Ian near his offenders rehabilitation centre and instantly fell for him. She is lovely, if naive, and was overjoyed when she and Ian had their son Lewis and moved in together. However, when Lewis is spotted by a neighbour demonstrating powers she becomes fearful of what will happen to them.
Lewis is the son of Ian and Jenny. A happy and placid baby, at only ten months old he has already started exhibiting unique innate abilities. When these are spotted by a neighbour of Ian and Jenny, Child Services become involved and Ian decides to ask for help from an unlikely source.
