Bittorrent Bundle data – first 30 days

So, I created a Bittorrent Bundle featuring Powerless, Killing Gods preview edition and Making Gods short story collection. It went live on 5th Feb and although I’m a bit over a month from launch now I thought I’d share some data with you.

Bundle Stats

Bittorrent Bundle Stats

According to their stats, I have had 281 pageviews with 25 downloads. That’s just under a 9% conversion rate. I don’t have any hard data from Amazon or Smashwords but I have heard that they are around the 2-5%.

I’m currently averaging around 5 pageviews a day. The big spike on the left was when my bundle was featured as ‘new’ on their front page for a few days.

Of course it helps that the bundle is free (although you can charge for them in multiple ways), but in contrast I doubt that the Bundles site has the traffic that Amazon has flooding into it. Also you can’t filter or search the site, which makes discovery challenging, so it’s even more surprising to see such a large number of downloads from visits.

Taking all that into account, I’m very happy with how the bundle is doing, and I’d definitely do another in future. I think it’s a great way to aid discovery, which is my main goal right now, and if you have a lot of older work, it’s perfect for getting it out in front of some new eyes and perhaps making a few quid from it too.
