What The Heck I Am Doing
Right, I’m going to set these in stone here, so that Internet commenters can one day hold this post up to my face and said that “I promised.” None of this is a promise, and it’s all subject to change, but such is life 😀
Anyhow, for anyone interested in what I’m planning to be doing for the next year+, here are the juicy details:
POWERLESS BOOK #3 (Title is a secret)
Taken a back seat at the moment as I do some pre-production work on the game (see below), but if I schedule it right, I should finish a first draft sometime around the end of this year/start of next. Then taking into account editing, cover, formatting etc. quite possibly out March 2017.
“BUTTERFLIES” GAME (Not actual title)
I’m keeping the final title to myself for now, but you can find some details of the game in this post. This has been one of those ideas that just stuck to the inside of my skull like chewing gum in a washing machine. I’ve done quite a bit of planning, technical research and real-world research, and I haven’t lost any interest yet, so I think it’s a keeper.
GRAPHIC NOVEL IDEAS 1 & 2
Yes, you and I both thought that spending 6 months creating Powerless: Some Kind of Hero would put me off comics for life, but not so! I have one idea for a series of really psychologically dark graphic novels, and another idea for a standalone title that ties into an SF anthology I’m also planning to do at some point (see below). Thing is, even though I know I can now draw and do layouts faster than on Some Kind of Hero, I still don’t fancy spending 6-12 months doing pretty much nothing else but one of these titles. So I may have to look into finding an experienced artist…
OTHER WRITING
For a few years now, I’ve had several ideas for a science fiction collection rattling around in my head, all the stories themed around augmented and virtual reality technology (which one of the graphic novels above would tie into). It’s getting to ‘critical mass’ point now, as I think I have enough stories to make a decent collection, but just need to start writing them 🙂
And of course, I’ll have to fit all of these around the freelance work that I’m doing to pay the bills. But there you have it! Any of these appeal to you in particular?
Tony.
