Don’t mind me

Remember those Geocities pages from the 90s that were always ‘Work in progress’, wallpapered with hideous repeating backgrounds and yellow triangle animated gifs of stick men with pick axes? Yeah, so I’m doing a little bit of random work on the blog at the moment, so apologies if bits come and go in the sidebar or in posts now and again. Nothing should break for long (if it does, let me know).

FYI I’ve already added a word count progress bar courtesy of Nanowrimo (click on it to grab your own) and I’m planning to have my books displayed in there too with a ‘BUY’ link, although that will take longer to set up.

OK, basically I’m stealing being inspired by Hugh Howey’s website, a very successful ebook author, like J.A. Konrath, who doesn’t mind telling people that the old print gatekeepers are doing writers a disservice. And he has a lovely website/blog which made me look at mine and think “Where are my obvious links to Facebook and Twitter? Word counts – that’s nice! He takes a better photo than me :(“, so I hate him, naturally.

And yes, I’m going to be changing that default header image just as soon as I make a new one!
